Alan Corral – Violin, Oboe, Trumpet, Trombone and More

 

Alan Corral is a dedicated music educator, conductor, and multi-instrumentalist from San Jose, California. With a lifelong passion for teaching, he has guided students of all ages across a wide range of instruments, including violin, oboe, trumpet, trombone, flute, piano, clarinet,  saxophone,  and recorder.

At San José State University, Alan serves as the professor of Woodwind Fundamentals, teaching future educators how to play and teach all major woodwinds. He is also a lead instructor for the SJSU String Project, a teaching assistant and assistant conductor for the university’s Symphony Orchestra, and a TA for music appreciation courses. His private students have been accepted into top ensembles, including the San Jose Youth Symphony, California Youth Symphony, Santa Clara County Honor Band, and CMEA All-State groups.

Alan is passionate about expanding music access in local schools. Through ModernMinded, he conducts and coaches elementary band programs, and he has supported numerous middle and high school music programs across the Bay Area. He has also served as a piano accompanist for school choirs.

Outside the classroom, Alan performs professionally with Mariachi Alma Bohemia, the California Lyric Opera Orchestra, and the Palo Alto Philharmonic. He holds a Bachelor of Music from SJSU, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Orchestral Conducting.
