Nancy Lai is a pianist, trombonist, and music educator.
She was born and raised in Taiwan, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in music in 2014.
Other than being a member of multiple local ensembles and symphonic in Taiwan, she was also hired as an instrument instructor to teach at Shixian elementary school from 2013 up until she immigrated to the state in 2015.
From 2016 to 2017, she was honored to be a community member at Stanford Symphony Orchestra.
Lai is currently teaching both K-4 general music at Vargas elementary, mountain view, and piano one-on-one classes for young beginners and adults in the south bay.
She provides a welcoming learning environment where students can explore body language, multicultural, interpersonal interactions, and motor fine skills through songs, instrument playings, and music games.
In 2021, she is a member of the National Association for Music Education, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa, and the candidate for a master’s degree in music education at San Jose State.
